Do you ever feel like you broke a winning streak?? Yeah I’m missing my favorite party. But I am $aving up for a big life move. #muddyroots #muddyroots2013 #missya #catchyanextyear #sacrifices for #goals
I added up what I took out in grants and loans, which is the max amount I could take, then subtracted my books, tuition and fees. For this semester (5 months) I have to find a way to live on about 3,500.00. Plus Kev’s measly 200 and something a week for unemployment. This is not going to work at all.
My biggest fear is going to work and not having enough time to study and fail. School is important but so is paying your bills. I hate America.
I was faced with a similar dilemma last semester, husband unemployed, nursing school, not even close to scraping by….finances were scary!
I managed to work and go to school. I didn’t even have the grants and loans. I just worked my job Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all the hours I could get. And I did not work on the other days I was in school. Those days were study and school only. I made honor roll that semester, so even tho I was over whelmed and over worked, my grades did not suffer.
It wasn’t easy. At all. But failure wasn’t an option and neither was not paying the rent. Shit had to get done. I had to do it.
Chalk it up to another one of those amazing things a woman can do when she’s put to the test. We truly, truly are amazing creatures aren’t we!
So be comforted. Where there is a will there is a way and if I can do it I know you can do it too.

He got invited to his first birthday party of the school year. I have always let them buy their friends whatever gift (with in reason). He’s very pleased with himself and can’t wait to present this gift to his friend tomorrow. I really hope his friend likes cheese…

This day last year. Man things change so much in one year! Today I’m putting on my nursing uniform to head to UC Davis for internship training. And my oldest is in highschool. I’m SO breathless! My youngest is in 4th grade and pleased to announce ALL his friends are in his class. My 3rd son, my stepson is back in SD starting middle school and we all look back so nostalgically at this summer 1 year ago with him. Missing that kid like crazy.
